Media
If you don't like the news, go out and make some of your own! The Modesto PLC Media Committee wants to give you the opportunity to do just that....
If you have always wanted to produce programs dealing with peace, social justice and a sustainable world, this is your opportunity to do it. The Media Committee is looking for people who have an interest or skills in digital video recording and editing. The Center has an HD digital camera with boom mic, good tripod, camera bag and accessories for recording. This equipment is made available to committee members to use to record their programs.
The focus of the Media committee's work has been broadcasting programs on local public access television. The programs we broadcast have either been produce here by committee members or by other independent media.
Currently, the Center has two time slots. We broadcast two hours a week on Comcast Channel 26 on Wednesday and Friday nights from 9PM to 10PM. We also have access to time on the weekends. Brad Johnson, one of our committee members, has 4 hours a week on Channel 26 from 10PM to 12AM. He has allowed us to use this time to broadcast programs that are over one hour or to fill his slot when necessary.
The Media Committee generally has working meetings. We do not have regular meeting times, so there are no regular meetings to attend. We will either work on editing or record an interview at the Peace Center.
